I was looking for anything to make my long distance touring passenger more comfortable. I decided that would include anything that could reduce riding effort and increased feeling of safety and security while on the bike. These passenger grab rails come with the added benefit of reducing rider effort as well! How does that work? Periodically any passenger will grab hold of the rider suddenly. This motion allows the passenger to ‘drive’ the bike and increase/decrease lean angle unexpectedly. Not a good thing to happen especially during emergency situations. With a little practice, my passenger was able to use the grab rails for stability instead of my shoulders. The grab rails are very stable and allowed increased bike control during cornering, acceleration and braking. Of course, there are situations when you want your passenger to hold on to you instead of the grab rails. No worries, just let them know using your helmet communicators…

Installation is a snap. No tools required, they simply bolt on to the regular seat mounts before you mount your seat.

My passenger and I both found these grab rails to become second nature and provided additional levels of security and comfort for both passenger and rider. While not a necessity, passenger grab rails reduce stress and increase comfort for those long distance rides. I try to do everything I can to get those benefits for my rides. Helps to increase my riding enjoyment and safety for those longer two up rides.

I used the right side grab to secure my GoPro wireless remote. My passenger was able to hit the button with her thumb to take pictures while we toured.
